It took me Four and half months to complete this book and i must say i found every bit of it refreshing and beautiful. This is my first book from Amy Tan and i loved her way of portraying Women, Her way of giving importance to minute details of women in this book. Though its been 4+ months, i felt connected with the book each time i went back to it. The writing is simple but the women in her book are complex and powerful. I loved the historical bits and pieces in the story, felt like i am being transported to a new world with new culture. I loved reading it and I am intending to read more of her works :)
